How to Increase Referrals and Improve Client Relationships

How to Increase Referrals and Improve Client Relationships

In the real estate business, referrals from past clients can make or break your business. If your past clients had an easy, smooth and enjoyable experience you will be at the forefront of their mind when their friends or family need a real estate agent or property management company. Here are 3 things you can do to improve your clients experience and increase your chance of referrals.

Create a genuine connection

If you are genuinely looking out for your client’s best interest and care about them, it will be much easier to build a lasting relationship. If you make a point to remember important dates and details about their life it will show you care.It is not only important to develop a connection and be interested in their lives during your time working together, but it is equally important to keep the relationship going when the sale is done. Taking an hour or so throughout your week to follow up with past clients and develop meaningful relationships will go a long way. A birthday card or video on a home-buying anniversary are just a few examples of ways to stay connected!

Use social media

Social media can be used in so many ways. It can be used to stay in connection with past clients, reach new clients, post interesting and relevant information and share new listings. Facebook, Instagram and other social media sites can help you make connections that you wouldn’t otherwise make as easily. You can use social media to promote events and invite past and future clients. This will also help keep the relationship genuine and connected. If your town has a Facebook page, join it! This is an easy way to keep in the loop of the needs and culture of your town. Using different social media platforms correctly,  is a great way to self promote your business in a relational way!

Keep your name in the forefront of their mind

Sending mailers or giving out merchandise with your personal information will keep you and your business at the front of your client’s brain. When their friends and family mention they are interested in selling or buying, not only will they remember the great connection you made with them, they will also have your information on hand to pass out. You can send mailers about local events or restaurants in the area, or information about the current housing market. Merchandise like magnets, or bottle openers are easy things to send or give out. People are likely to keep those things in accessible places as well.

These are just a few suggestions on how to increase your referrals and improve client relationships, but there are so many more ways you can do this. Leave a comment with your suggestions on improving client relationships!
